Why transplant results can disappear in less than one year?

Most results gone in one year
Most of the times the results which are being shown to you, are medicine boosted results where the contribution of medicines can be up to 90%. As soon as the patient stops medication or the medicine stops working on patient’s head (because of tolerance), temporary enhancement caused by medications, ceases leading to disappointing results:
- * Gaps and Reduced Density: previously concealed gaps become apparent, and the overall density of the hair decreases.
- * Excessive Hair loss : The health and thickness of both transplanted and existing hair can deteriorate, leading to an accelerated hair loss.
- * Ugly/ Unnatural Hair line: The health and thickness of both transplanted and existing hair can deteriorate, leading to an unnatural appearance and accelerated hair loss.
- * Damaged Donor: Over exhaustion of donor area can make future transplants difficult.
- * Health Compromise: The risk of side effects like erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, brain fog, gyanecomastia can increase with higher doses of medicine.
- What went wrong:
- 1. Unable to differentiate between actual transplanted hair & hair grown with medicine.
- 2. Wrong selection of technique/ surgeon/ clinic
- 3. Over use/ abuse of medication.
Let us understand with an example
Hair transplant results can be impressive at first, but without proper long-term care, hair quality may decrease over time. At Satya, we understand the frustration when your initial results start to fade. Many clinics don’t consider the impact of medication and titrating the grafts properly, leading to weaker outcomes over time.
Here is the story of Rohan (Name Change) (like lakhs of other people). He was happy till the point he was taking full doses of medicine, gave a testimony & many referrals to the clinic (not knowing that the result was 90% medicine & 10% hair transplant, he paid 100% money, respect, referrals & testimony to the clinic.) The promised number of grafts & the skill set was not delivered (it wasn’t even present in their previous results, which actually had inspired this patient to choose that clinic.)

Similar results can be achieved with half the number of grafts!
Do you know the number of grafts will vary according to dose of medicine?
We are sharing some cases of similar grades of baldness. They will have almost similar looking results, but the number of grafts & the area covered would be contrastingly different.
You will see how the number of grafts changes with the involvement of medicine & its dose. These facts are logical, honest & involve more than two decades of experience. The intent is to help you to get a realistic & lasting solution with minimal health risks.
Grade 1-3

Grade 4-5

Grade 6-7

"IS YOUR CLINIC/ SURGEON GIVING YOU OPTION TO CHOOSE NUMBER OF GRAFTS ACCORDING TO THE DOSE OF MEDICINE?"
If not can you trust such clinics/ surgeons??
The biggest lie of hair transplant industry
“We have done your hair transplant & medicine is just given to save your existing hair”

Truth: In addition to saving the existing hair, the medicine increases the thickness of existing hair, including small, miniaturise hair, it can add significantly to:
- 1. Increases overall density and coverage.
- 2. Grows softer hair in the hairline zone, making even an ugly hairline with gaps, look great.
- 3. Increases the thickness of transplanted and donor hair, making them look much better than their actual position.
- 4. Medicine can even work in smaller doses like 1/5 or 1/4, and still not just prevent hair loss, but grows a significant number of hair.
- 5. The effect of medicine is directly proportional to the dosage of medicine. Higher the dose more would be the effect.
- 6. Starting with smaller doors would minimise the risk of side-effects and will give us a safe buffer to increase the dose in case of tolerance.
“But medicine can be free hair and free credit for many clinics, thus not disclosing the option of micro dosing to their patients.“

FAQ’s
(Frequently Asked Questions)
Are the results which you are showing me, pure hair transplant results?
Most of the times the results which are flashed on internet or not pure hair transplant results. They can be contributed up to 90% by medications, in terms of coverage, density and hairline aesthetics, because of which an ordinary work can also look great, leading to wrong selection of surgeon. You should only pay for the skill of surgeon, not the medicine.
Can you do a hair transplant without 1mg/ day finasteride & will I get results similar to, what you are showing, if I don't take the medicine?
They won’t be able to give similar results without medicine, what can be achieved with daily dose of medicine. But unfortunate part is many clinics do not acknowledge the contribution which comes through medications and show these results as hair transplant results and a testimony of their skills. This will obviously create a gap between expectations and reality, leading to disappointment later on.
Why are you not discussing the option of micro-dosing of medication with me?
The effect which you get because of medicine is directly proportional to the dose of medicine. So if the medicine dose is reduced, the contribution in results will also be reduced. This will lead to less free hair and free credit points for the surgeon. So many people might not like this approach as it will take away the chance to glorify their results.
You are showing me grade 7 results, is it logistically possible to cover such extreme baldness?
Normally, you have almost 60 to 70,000 here in the areas where you lose them in grade 7. And there are 30 to 40,000 Hair in the donor area. It is obviously not possible to take all of them out so the demand and supply don’t meet. But you see so often grade 7 results, being flashed as a testimony to supreme skill. But you will be surprised to know that this demand and supply gap is filled not by the skill or the grafts, but by the medicine which may contribute up to 90% of the total result.
Why should I pay 100% money for a 10% work?
Generally, people overrate the skill of the surgeon and many a times the number of graphs are also over promised and never delivered. Every thing is covered up nicely by the contribution of medicine, which many a times doctors conveniently forget to acknowledge. You have the right to pay only for the work actually done by the surgeon.
I am having a lot of desires about density & hairline, by agreeing to my desires how will you manage if my hairloss progresses in future?
Remember, hair restoration is a journey, not one point destination. So you cannot invest all your donor even if it is available at that point of time. Similarly, having very high doses of medicines at the beginning of journey might cut short your journey, however, it will look great in the beginning. So if you are aiming for long-term sustenance of your results, you should go for a more balanced approach and conservative use of your resources.
You are saying that FUT is an obsolete technique but even Elon Musk got an FUT done. So why should I believe you?
More than 99% clinics in the world to only a FUE technique and ridicule FUT technique by saying that it is obsolete. This is a very wrong practice. You will find many influential and powerful people across the globe getting FUT done because in case of progressive boldness and high-grade baldness, FUE alone will just destroy the donor. Unfortunately, most of the doctors or not trained to do FUT, and at times, they are not honest enough to admit their lack of skill, thus pushing the patients for something which is not good in their long-term interests. Remember FUT & FUE, both are important and integral part of your hair restoration journey.
Is it possible to do 4000-5000 grafts in a single day?
Whenever you see such claims, be aware as it is not possible to do that many in a single day. Either the number would be fake and over promised, (which is the case in majority of such claims). Or these numbers are done at the cost of quality and eventually leading to very poor growth and donor damage.
What will you do if I develop tolerance to the medicine dosage which you are recommending me now?
If you keep taking a medicine for a long time, the same dose of medicine may not keep working at the same capacity. We have to increase the dose is to sustain the effect. So if you start with high doses, you will have to move to higher doses which might predispose you to higher risks of side effects.
You are telling me that I have to take medicine for one year and then we will see. What will happen if I stop it then?
No one would like to have the medicines for life and at times doctors hesitate to tell you the truth. But then this again leads to disappointments later on as stopping the medicines will lead to serious rebound hair loss.
You are telling me that millions of people across the globe are taking this medicine for years or decades, then why are you not able to show me even hundred such cases?
The results which you are shown by different clinics across the globe or not even a tip of the iceberg of the actual number of transplants being done. Most of the people need another transplant or those who consume high doses of medicine develop either side effects or tolerance. So having the right strategy will actually help you to go the distance and achieve long-term sustainable results with minimal health risks.
You are asking me to take 4 to 5 sessions of PRP after transplant, what if I don't take it?
Most of the times crazy number of PRP sessions are recommended after transplant. In our experience we have found that multiple sessions of the treatment actually don’t give you any additional benefit. They are unnecessary & waste of time energy and money. This can also induce tolerance and make the treatment ineffective. So please avoid this trap.
